Mozambique, "learning hygiene" at school with mom and dad

000433 scuola igiene mozVilankulo, July 29 2013 - They have been a success the meetings on personal hygiene that were held in the schools involved in the program to support remote districts of Vilankulo in Mozambique.

In recent weeks, in all thirteen communities supported by our organization, two sessions took place to raise awareness on issues of hygiene, waste disposal and the proper use of sanitation.

The participation was extraordinary, and beyond our expectations, with as many as 3,533 people present at the meetings between students, teachers, community leaders, members of school boards and parents. The latter, in particular, had turned the focus of awareness which had as its title "The Parent education employees."

The importance of the commitment of mothers and fathers in transmitting the correct hygiene habits to children has been the focus of the movies screened during community meetings ("Com Licença Professor, uma historia sobre to diarreia" and "Cólera").

That of the so-called "mobile cinema" has been for some years established habit of ACRA in Mozambique: the projections of movies of interest to the communities and schools supported (on topics such as in this case related to hygiene but other sometimes even the rights of children and women) are followed by debates open to all participants, during which emerge as the most pressing issues experienced by the local people.
