Ciad

ACRA is present in Chad since 1968 with the implementation of projects in the administrative regions of Mayo Kebbi, Chari Baguirmi, Hadjer Lamis, Salamat, Moyen Chari and Guéra.

ACRA priorities in Chad are education, environmental protection and the fight against hunger and poverty.

In particular, during the year, the most significant ACRA interventions in Chad have covered the topics of basic education (support to rural community schools, strengthening of the education system, training of teachers and parents' associations) and forest management (creation of community forests, dissemination of alternative energy sources, valorization of wood products and other products.)

Besides the ongoing projects, ACRA promotes income-generating activities to its rural partners both through microfinance and through the implementation of development funds. ACRA works following a participatory approach and its objective is the empowerment of grassroots organizations in the implementation of projects, which are managed together.
