Advancing Energy Access in South Asia workshop

00526 coverSeptember, Patna, India - Elena Casolari, Chief Executive Officer ACRA, led her experience at the session IV of the "Advancing Energy Access in South Asia workshop" supported by partners of the UN Foundation and Sustainable Energy for All.

The workshop had highlight the work underway by a range of entrepreneurs in this sector as well as policy and practical innovations to help catalyse the sector further. It has involved together practitioners, investors and experts working to deliver decentralised energy solutions across South Asia.

The focus was on the removal of market barriers to the effective delivery of energy services by promoting the adoption of new technologies and innovative financial and business models, as well as the identification and dissemination of best practices and advocacy for universal energy access.

The event

The workshop has showcase the latest developments in the sector, with a particular focus on opportunities to expand energy access in India and more broadly in South Asia, and with a strong South-South knowledge sharing component.

Participants from across the country and region representing governments, the private sector, and civil society has discussed challenges and solutions in the mini/micro-grids sector, innovations in decentralized applications, financing opportunities and specific sector applications such as those to enhance women's health, education, and improving energy services across agricultural supply chains.
