ACRA has joined the Rural Water Supply Network

global goals

Last 25th of september, 193 member states of the United Nationsformally adopted the global plan, “Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” (visit the official website of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development).

The new goals are intended to be a global roadmap to growth and prosperity over the next 15 years, providing guidance for countries rich and poor alike to prioritize investments in poverty alleviation and social and economic development. The global goals replace the Millennium Development Goals, launched in 2000 and expiring at the end of this year.

In the new post-2015 global framework, the SDG 6 is the dedicated water and sanitation goal : "ENSURE AVAILABILITY AND SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF WATER AND SANITATION FOR ALL" (download the info-graphic here from the UNWATER website).

Celebrating this important achievement and new beginning that will guide us in the forthcoming 15 years, ACRA has joined the Rural Water Supply Network (RWSN) as part of our on-going commitment to improve rural water supply services and tackle rural poverty.

We have agreed to the RWSN Vision and Kampala Commitments, which you can read here.
