Bolivia stretches over areas of the Amazon forest, valleys and plateaux, rising up the Andes heights; consequently it has a variety of extreme climates (from 50° in Chaco to -25° on the Andes).

Its main resources, historically, are linked to the subsurface: minerals and hydrocarbons. The country also has a considerable biodiversity, greater than the majority of countries; because of this wealth, the country has been, over time, subjected to irrational and unsustainable exploitation of its resources which have benefited few limited segments of the population.

ACRA has been officially present in Bolivia since 1985 with projects in the areas of La Paz and Yungas, Cochabamba, Salaar de Uyuni and Pando. The main needs to which we try to respond mainly concern access to clean drinking water and management of natural resources, while trying to reduce the marginalization of local producers in accessing the market and promote their participation in the creation of added value in the production chain (lama, Amazon nuts, coffee, milk).

Project partners of ACRA in Bolivia are essentially community based organizations (committees, union organizations), peasant economic organizations (OECAs), the municipalities. At different levels ACRA addresses and builds relations also with government bodies: ministers, superintendencies and other civil institutions.
